I am so excited to be playing with these talented people! I will be having guest performers on sax and harp joining us for some gigs, but this is the main lineup.
ALEX RICHMAN
Alex Richman is a keyboardist/singer/songwriter whose musical background combines classical training with blues and soul to form her own unique style. She recorded a solo album on Capitol Records, and has played and recorded with The Butts Band which included members of The Doors, and has toured England and Europe with Curved Air with Stewart Copeland on drums. Currently she lives in St. Augustine and plays with a number of local bands as well as playing solo.
JULIE PAPILI
Florida based musician, Julie Papili, has been honing her craft for over a decade and a half. Originally beginning at the age of eight as a young bassist, Julie has not stopped striving to expand her musicianship ever since. Julie graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2018 where she received a bachelor of music degree in music production and engineering. Currently, she performs all over northeastern Florida in various groups as a bassist, drummer, and guitarist and also frequently performs as a solo act singing and playing acoustic guitar.
PAUL UNSWORTH
Paul began playing shows with the local community theater group at age 14. By 17 he was playing club dates professionally as well as with the regional rock band, Pegasus. After four years of classical and jazz study at a conservatory of music he joined the regional country rock band, Desperate Men as well as playing jazz in various ensembles. Soon he was playing what was known as the “Oldies Circuit” playing in the rhythm section for the Drifters, Marvelettes, Crystals, Freddie “Boom Boom” Cannon, Little Anthony, Bo Diddley, Lou Christie, and many more which culminated in doing a TV spot with James Brown, and a weekend of music for Dick Clark at Busch Gardens. From there he played in various bands in New York City including playing and recording with Blondie guitarist Paul Carbonara’s Killer Fish Band, Sheryl Crowe guitarist Todd Wolfe, (2 CD releases) and Lou Reed bassist and blues singer, Ellard Boles, Moose and the Bullet Proof Blues Band. From there he began working with an old school mate, singer songwriter guitarist and pianist, Peter Karp with whom he performed and recorded multiple CDs including The Turning Point which featured Rolling Stone veteran, Mick Taylor. From there, Paul says, “I got my masters in music” working for singer songwriter guitarist Carmine Feravola’s band, Charlie Jones. Paul more recently moved to Florida and has worked and recorded with the Duffy Bishop Band. Their CD, “I’m Going to Do What I Want”, includes his original composition “The New Song.” He also worked with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Ron Norris. Today Paul is composing music for and playing in the group, Jazz Spirits and playing for singer songwriter guitarist Vange Durst.
